FCC, access to the US handled.

Electronics may only enter the American market once the FCC process has been completed. We determine which of the two routes applies, perform pre-compliance testing on your product ourselves, outsource the formal measurement to an accredited laboratory, and provide the text required for the product and the manual.

Does this apply to you?

The FCC has two routes. Which of the two applies depends on whether your product intentionally emits radio signals.

Wanneer wel

Your product emits radio signals

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G, or a remote control. In these cases, the rigorous route applies: measurements, an application to a body that issues the authorization, and a unique FCC ID on the product.

Your product is electronic but does not transmit

A device with a processor or a switching power supply emits unintentional radiation. In this case, the lighter route suffices, involving measurements and a declaration that you sign yourself.

You sell on an American marketplace

For electronics, platforms require the FCC number or the declaration before your listing goes live. Without that data, it remains offline.

You provide the product, we do the rest

The American route has its own rules, its own authorities, and its own texts. We take that work off your hands. What is required from you fits into a single line.

Wij

determine which route your product falls under and which measurements follow from it, so you do not pay for unnecessary tests.

Wij

first measure your product in our own laboratory according to FCC measurement methods, so you know where you stand before the formal measurement costs money.

Wij

outsource the formal measurement to a laboratory recognized by the FCC, submit the application to the body that issues the authorization, and provide the documents they require.

Wij

draft the label text and write the passages prescribed by the FCC for the manual, in English.

Wij

arrange the American contact person required for the rigorous route, so the application does not fail on that point.

provide what you have: your product data, the electronics schematic, and a few samples for measurement. That is all there is to it.

No separate report. One dossier for the US.

This contains the route determination, the measurement reports, the authorization with your FCC ID or the signed declaration, plus the texts for the label and the manual.

If your American customer or a marketplace asks for it, you simply forward it. In the format they expect.

Frequently asked questions about FCC certification

The questions entrepreneurs ask us most often about this. Is your question not listed? Call or email us.

What is the difference between FCC and CE?

They are two markets with two systems. CE is a declaration that you sign yourself based on your dossier. The FCC works with fixed routes and requires authorization with a number that is placed on the product for transmitters. Therefore, a CE dossier is not proof for the United States.

Do I need an FCC ID?

Only for products that intentionally emit radio signals. If your product does not transmit, the lighter route suffices and no FCC ID is required. We determine this before measurements are taken.

Do you perform the measurements yourselves?

Partially. We first measure your product in our own laboratory according to FCC measurement methods, so you know if it is feasible before costs are incurred. The formal measurement for authorization must be performed by an FCC-recognized laboratory. We are not one, so we outsource and monitor that for you.

What if a measurement fails?

Then we will tell you what needs to be done. Often it involves an adjustment to the shielding, the power supply, or the antenna design. You will hear from us the shortest route to a successful measurement.

Do I need to have an address in the United States?

For the rigorous route, there must be an American contact person who accepts mail and inquiries. You do not need to open a branch for this. We handle that role.

How long does it take?

Count on a few weeks for the light route and longer when authorization from a body is required. We perform the pre-measurement ourselves; after that, the accredited laboratory and the authority determine the pace.
